Pamoja Tujenge started as a vision of one of our founding members Mikhael Missakabo, a native of Katanga, south central province of DR Congo. Mr. Missakabo envisioned a nonprofit organization that would help rebuild lives in the local community of Katanga and further rebuild rural Africa by providing relief programs that help alleviate local communities’ health, poverty, illiteracy and food insecurity.
Pamoja Tujenge was founded in 2005 and has brought people together from Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa to work with the residents of three small rural villages in Katanga Province in southern Congo. From the inaugural meeting in 2005 we have grown to over 100 supporters, and helped some 600 people in Katanga.
In the future, we hope to extend our relief programs to other provinces in the DR Congo and other rural communities in Africa.
